ROLE
UX Designer
SoundCloud is one of the music streaming platforms. On this platform, users are also allowed to upload their songs directly without going through a music distributor first, like their competitor, Spotify.
However, with these advantages, some users prefer to use other platforms rather than stay there. Then, why could it happen?
Because it was just a pretend project, so I did all the processes alone by myself.
I did research by doing a competitor analysis and understanding the users through interviews, here are the key problems that I found.
Then, based on the key problems that were found, to solve them, I refer to the following defined problems:

How might we give a better experience to users, so they can stay at SoundCloud and not change over to another music streaming platform?

To ensure a consistent and proper design system both on mobile and websites version.
By remapping out the composition of information architecture (IA), so the journey in each task is equal—not feel too long or short.
Before jumping into ideating the solutions, here are 2 types of users and their respective jobs-to-be-done.
I used design sprints as the framework. The goal of this sprint is to get faster validation from users over the solution that I have created.
To approach the problems, I ideate the solutions in the form of a new flow and wireframe of the SoundCloud interface after I did a design audit. Then because users often use the app rather than the website, so I started this stage with the mobile app version.
A. User Flow
I remapped the user flow on SoundCloud including the information architecture. On the left, it's the current flow. And on the right, it's the new flow that I’ve improved.
B. Early Designs
After conducted user testing and taking a look at the responses, I continued designing for the entire page and creating a rapid prototype before conducting user testing for the second time.
Here are my final designs for this project.
A. Homepage as The Blueprint
B. More Freedom on Pleasant Search Page
C. Neat Library Page
